Born and raised in the hotel trade in Devon and Cornwall, so providing faultless service is second nature to him.
The 24 years of successful army service, during which time he served as a Regimental Sergeant Major became a strong foundation to develop the immaculate presentation and calm authority required of a successful Toastmaster.
When he completed his army service and on the advice of friends and colleagues who perceived his talent for the role he was encouraged to train properly as a Toastmaster. So in 1974 he started and underwent a long period of apprenticeship with the respected and well known Toastmasters, Reg Tyler and Monty Hunter in Devon. In 1991 David moved to Bracknell and rapidly established himself as a local Toastmaster for the Borough.
From 1991 onwards, he established himself as one of the leading Toastmasters in London and the Thames Valley. He has been instrumental in organising and conducting many hundreds of weddings, banquets, civic functions, Ladies Nights, etc., for happy, satisfied clients who value his advice, organisational ability and experience in the preparation and running all types of functions.
His excellent professional reputation is founded on his attention to detail, his immaculate turnout and his quiet, helpful, supportive authority, whilst at the same time being able to be flexible and constructive should a sudden change be necessary during a function.
He is now a Past President of the Society of London Toastmasters, he was elected and served as President of the Society during year 2005. The Society is the leading professional body established to maintain the standards and reputation of this most dignified of roles. |
