Formal functions

Some formal events require absolute conformity with traditional etiquette, adhering to correct precedence and the correct use of titles, honours and awards. A Toastmaster gives a authoritative presence and displays the dignity and discretion necessary for such events. He will ensure that the correct protocol is maintained and, if required, will advise guests about what is required of them.

For the less formal event the traditional toastmaster's role becomes that of a link-man to liaise with organisers, banqueting manager and entertainers.
